[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters has raised the emergency level from Level 1 to Level 2 in response to the heavy rain warning issued across the entire province.

On the 30th, Gyeonggi-do announced that due to the heavy rain warning (90mm or more rainfall in 3 hours or 180mm or more in 12 hours) issued for all 31 cities and counties in the province, the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters elevated the emergency response from Level 1 to Level 2 starting at 5 a.m. that day.

With the upgrade to Level 2, the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters will have the Director of the Safety Management Office in charge of managing the heavy rain situation.
