NASA Releases Photos from Solar Observation Satellite
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-su] "The mountain ranges of the moon seemed to be engulfed in the flames of the sun."
NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) on the 29th (local time) released an astonishing eclipse scene captured from space. The Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) satellite launched by NASA captured the moment when the moon covered up to 67% of the sun during the eclipse.
Regarding this, SpaceWeather.com reported, "Today, the moon caused a partial eclipse visible only from space as it passed in front of the sun, and NASA's solar observation satellite observed this for 35 minutes," adding, "The moon covered up to 67% of the sun, and at that moment, it looked as if the mountain ranges of the moon were wrapped in the sun's flames."
NASA's SDO (Solar Dynamics Observatory) satellite was jointly developed and launched in February 2010 by NASA and the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to monitor space weather, measure solar wind, and observe the sun's magnetic field and sunspots.
