[Seoul District News] Jungnang-gu to Hold Groundbreaking Ceremony for Myeonmok 7-dong Complex Building on the 29th Morning · Transformed into a Complex Facility Including Resident Center and Youth Culture and Arts Education Center after 42 Years · Scheduled for Completion in December Next Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Myeonmok 7-dong Complex Building on the morning of the 29th at the new construction site at 354 Myeonmok-dong. The complex building is scheduled to be completed by December next year, starting from the groundbreaking.
The Myeonmok 7-dong Community Center, built in 1980, had become outdated over the years and lacked facilities for community sports and cultural convenience, failing to meet residents' demands and causing inconvenience in use.
Accordingly, the district decided to rebuild it as a complex building tailored to the local characteristics, reflecting residents' requests. Last January, the winning design was selected through a design competition, and design services were carried out.
The complex building will be constructed with a total floor area of 3,215㎡, spanning from two basement floors to four above-ground floors, to serve the residents. As the name suggests, the complex building will include various detailed facilities encompassing administration, welfare, and culture.
The interior will be organized to enhance residents' convenience and cultural enjoyment, including ▲ basement floors 1 and 2 parking lot (22 spaces) ▲ 1st floor community center ▲ 2nd floor auditorium ▲ 3rd floor youth culture and arts education center ▲ 4th floor multipurpose room, program rooms, and residents' autonomy committee office. In particular, the youth culture and arts education center will feature rehearsal rooms, dance rooms, and group classrooms, allowing any youth to easily use and enjoy the arts.
Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, “The Myeonmok 7-dong Community Center, which has endured for over 40 years, will be reborn as a complex building that combines culture, welfare, and administration to improve the quality of life for local residents. After completion, I hope residents will participate and communicate to help the complex building receive much love. We will continue to do our best to expand public infrastructure so that citizens can enjoy more comfortable civil services.”
