[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seocho-gu (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) will celebrate and commemorate the new beginning on the first day of the 8th term of the elected government by hosting the first meeting concert of the 8th term, "Majung," at 7 PM on July 1st at the Seocho Culture and Arts Center Art Hall.
This performance will feature ▲Michael Lee, who has received acclaim through various musical works ▲Seodo Band, the founder of Joseon Pop who won the national traditional music competition program Pungnyu Daejang ▲Song Eun-hye, the popera fairy who has performed with Paul Potts with a clear voice, promising to present the best stage to local residents who have been thirsty for cultural performances.
On this day, Michael Lee and Song Eun-hye are also expected to present a special joint stage, attracting attention. In addition, Seodo Band will offer a collaboration performance of traditional music and popular music, delivering emotion and enjoyment to the audience.
Especially, with the lifting of social distancing measures, the Seocho Culture and Arts Center opened all 600 seats for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic. After the first reservation started on June 23, reservations were quickly filled due to explosive responses from residents.
This performance is part of the Seocho Friday Music Concert, which began its first performance in 1994 and marks its 1,190th session on this day. The Seocho Friday Music Concert has been a traditional cultural performance that has established itself as a representative cultural program of Seocho-gu by presenting high-quality cultural performances to local residents every Friday for the past 28 years.
Kwon Mi-jung, Director of the Culture and Tourism Division, said, "We prepared this performance to share a hopeful new start with the residents on the first day of the 8th term of the elected government," adding, "We will continue to support residents so that they can enjoy high-quality culture and arts anytime and anywhere."
