[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] The Human Rights Center at Suncheon National University (Director Kang Sung-ho) announced on the 29th that it recently conducted 'Sexual Harassment and Sexual Violence Prevention Education' to enhance job competency for 25 new employees.
This education was promoted to raise awareness of workplace gender discrimination among new employees and to establish a gender-equal organizational culture.
The program covered topics such as 'Conversation Skills to Enhance Gender Sensitivity' and 'What to Do When Sexual Harassment or Human Rights Violations Occur Around You,' followed by a Q&A session with employees to create a healthy organizational culture.
Kang Sung-ho, Director of the Human Rights Center, stated, "Providing preventive education to lead the creation of a gender-equal organizational culture and a healthy workplace atmosphere is a very important role of the university," adding, "I hope this education will serve as an opportunity for the newly joined staff to cultivate correct values regarding gender and foster a healthy culture."
Meanwhile, since 2019, the Suncheon National University Human Rights Center has conducted sexual violence prevention and human rights education for middle and high school students in the local community for about four years, and has continuously operated 'Visiting Sexual Harassment and Sexual Violence Education' to improve university students' gender sensitivity.
The center plans to steadily expand multifaceted education to establish correct values among university members in the future.
