Suncheon Cultural Foundation, Cheongchun Mike Gwangju·Jeonnam 'Village Constellation Project' Performance

[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] The Suncheon Cultural Foundation announced on the 29th that it will hold the ‘2022 Culture Day Youth Microphone_Gwangju·Jeonnam’ performance on the 1st and 2nd of next month.

From 5 PM to 7 PM, it will be held under the concept of ‘Village Constellation Project - Connecting the Sky, Stars, Moon, and Light Villages’ in Damyang, Jangseong, Gwangyang, and Gokseong.

This year’s ‘Youth Microphone_Gwangju·Jeonnam’ is planned to connect villages with the same name in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions through the Youth Microphone, creating a unified village constellation.

Beyond a simple performance, it combines village stories and performances, visiting remote villages where it is difficult to access performances, and directly meeting village residents.

On the first day, various young artists will showcase diverse music and performances in Dalbitmuwol Village in Damyang County and Byeollae-ri Village in Jangseong County. On the second day, performances will be held in Sandalbaengi Village in Gwangyang City and Haneulnari Village in Gokseong County.

In particular, on the 2nd, Sandalbaengi Village in Gwangyang and Haneulnari Village in Gokseong will be connected via dual live broadcast, capturing the stories of residents from both villages in real-time Youth Microphone to communicate with the residents.

A representative of the Suncheon Cultural Foundation said, “Through the Youth Microphone performance visiting villages, a senior who said it was their first time watching a performance in their life expressed deep gratitude, which gave the young artists even more comfort,” adding, “In the future, young artists want to visit villages throughout Gwangju and Jeonnam where it is difficult to access culture and arts, creating more ‘first-ever performances’ for someone.”

Meanwhile, the Culture Day ‘Youth Microphone’ project provides opportunities for cultural and artistic activities by supporting performances and finances to young cultural artists with talent and passion regardless of academic background, career, or awards, laying the foundation for growth as professional artists, and expands opportunities and accessibility to enjoy culture and arts in daily life through street performances.
