[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] President Yoon, who is staying in Madrid, Spain to attend the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit, stated on the 29th, marking the 20th anniversary of the Second Battle of Yeonpyeong, "In the name of the nation, we remember our heroes. We will never forget."


On the 29th, President Yoon said on social media (SNS), "I pray for the souls of the six heroes who gave their lives to protect the Republic of Korea."


He listed the names of the late Major Yoon Young-ha, late Sergeant Han Sang-guk, late Sergeant Jo Cheon-hyeong, late Staff Sergeant Hwang Do-hyeon, late Staff Sergeant Seo Hu-won, and late Private First Class Park Dong-hyeok, who died in the Battle of Yeonpyeong, emphasizing, "In the name of the nation, we remember our heroes."


President Yoon also expressed gratitude and respect to the soldiers of Chamsuri 357 who bravely fought against North Korea's surprise attack, saying, "The freedom and peace we enjoy today were protected by the resolute courage and sacrifice of the West Sea heroes."


He added, "I and the Republic of Korea will establish a strong security posture so that their blood and sweat will not be in vain," and "We will make the sacrifices of those who devoted themselves to the homeland even more valuable."
