Selected 100 Autumn Non-Face-to-Face Tourist Destinations, Promoting Clean Tourism Resources Including Goryeong Ginkgo Forest
Goryeong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, won the 'Best Content Award' at the Seoul International Tourism Fair, the largest comprehensive tourism exhibition in Korea, held at COEX in Seoul.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Goryeong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, announced on the 29th that it won the 'Best Content Award' at the Seoul International Tourism Fair, the largest comprehensive tourism exhibition in Korea, held at COEX in Seoul.
Goryeong-gun received recognition for its innovative independent booth design utilizing the tourism promotion mascot 'Gogo String Band,' as well as live commerce and various promotional events.
The Seoul International Tourism Fair, with a 37-year history, was held offline for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic, taking place at COEX for four days from the 23rd to the 27th.
At the Goryeong-gun tourism promotion hall, information was provided on the Jisandong Tumuli, selected as a UNESCO final registration candidate, major tourist attractions in Goryeong, representative local camping spots, and region-specific content such as the Gogo String Band. In addition to exhibiting local agricultural specialties, the hall actively promoted clean tourism resources including the Goryeong Ginkgo Forest, which was selected as one of the Korea Tourism Organization's top 100 autumn non-face-to-face tourist destinations.
Furthermore, a photo zone featuring the Goryeong-gun tourism promotion character group Gogo String Band, themed around Daegaya and the Gayageum, was set up to allow visitors to take commemorative photos.
The booth attracted attention with a friendly caf? atmosphere design, displaying characters and animations of the Gogo String Band as well as promotional videos themed on major tourist sites in Goryeong, accompanied by character group dolls.
A Goryeong-gun official stated, “As travel sentiment, which had been subdued, is now easing, we will continue to discover differentiated content so that many visitors can enjoy their trips to Goryeong.”
