[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] Urbanbase Inc. (CEO Ha Jin-woo) is lowering the entry barrier to real-time rendering technology, which was once considered exclusive to professionals, by launching 'Real Panorama.' Urbanbase's '3D Interior,' which allows users to enjoy virtual interior design on the web, retains its unique features while enhancing immersion with up to 8K ultra-high-definition 360-degree tours, giving users the feeling of visiting a model house or offline showroom.

According to Naver Data Lab, as the interior market size has grown since COVID-19, the search index for keywords related to interior simulation such as 3D interior and virtual interior increased by about 109% in 2021 compared to 2019. As interior simulation services enter the 'Early Majority' stage for popularization, the demand for more realistic simulation results beyond just experiencing simulations has also continuously increased.

Rendering refers to the graphic process of converting 3D work into photo-realistic images. Existing software capable of rendering is targeted at professional designers, so while the functions are sophisticated, a certain level of basic education is required for general users lacking foundational graphic knowledge. Urbanbase's Real Panorama targets non-professionals who want simulation results similar to real-life but could not perform rendering due to entry barriers. It is designed as a Software as a Service (SaaS) to increase accessibility and features a user interface that is as simple as possible for easy operation.

Real Panorama, like Urbanbase 3D Interior, is available on the web, allowing easy access anytime and anywhere without spatial or temporal constraints. After interior simulation, the styled space is converted into up to 8K ultra-high-definition images, applying 360-degree panorama view technology to enable interactive exploration of the space. Users can freely look around the entire space up, down, left, and right without blind spots. The processing time varies depending on the size of the space but takes about 15 minutes on average.

Bang Hyun-woo, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Urbanbase, said, "Under the brand mission of 'Let everyone easily enjoy personalized spaces,' Urbanbase introduced the 3D interior service for the first time in Korea, breaking down the boundaries between interior professionals and non-professionals. Real Panorama follows the same context. It will help non-professionals check photo-realistic interior results without computer graphics education, aligning the perspectives of suppliers and consumers at a similar level."

Meanwhile, Real Panorama will first be offered for corporate use and will gradually expand services to the general public. Inquiries about service adoption can be made through the official Urbanbase Business website.
