[Seoul District News] Guro-gu to Hold Event at District Office Plaza on July 1 at 5 PM; Open to All Residents · Modest and Substantial Event in Line with Moon's Election Intentions
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] The inauguration ceremony of Moon Heon-il, the mayor of Guro-gu in the 8th local election, will be held at 5 p.m. on July 1st at the Guro-gu Office Plaza.
According to Mayor-elect Moon Heon-il's intention, the inauguration ceremony will remove participation barriers so that anyone can attend, and instead of a lavish event, it will be held modestly and substantively to signify preparing the 8th local government term together with the residents.
At this inauguration ceremony, Mayor-elect Moon will promise to strive for change and innovation to build a "better Guro" that residents desire, and will convey the future direction of the district administration to be created together with the residents.
The approximately one-hour ceremony will proceed in the order of a performance by Guro youth cultural and artistic groups, the new mayor's oath and inaugural speech, reading of the presidential congratulatory message, congratulatory remarks by a member of the National Assembly, listening to the voices of residents, and a closing performance by the Guro Women's Choir.
In particular, during the "Wishes to the New Mayor" segment where the voices of residents are heard, Guro residents including youth, seniors, and housewives will convey their vivid voices and expectations for the 8th local government term in Guro.
The inauguration ceremony held on the day can also be viewed on the official YouTube channel of Guro-gu Office.
If it rains on the day of the inauguration, the event will be held at the Guro Art Valley Arts Theater.
A Guro-gu official stated, "Mayor-elect Moon Heon-il requested that this inauguration ceremony become an event where the residents who will create a new Guro together become the main characters," and added, "We will do our best to prepare so that the open plaza becomes a place where all residents can unite and communicate."
