Festival to Celebrate Successful Bid for 2025 APEC Summit in Gyeongju

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] A festival to resolve the hosting of the ‘2025 APEC Summit’ will be held in Gyeongju.

On the 28th, Gyeongju City announced that it will hold the ‘2025 APEC Summit Gyeongju Hosting Prayer Good News Co Festival’ inviting city and provincial residents at 7 p.m. on the 17th of next month at the Gyeongju Hwabaek Convention Center.

This event is sponsored by Gyeongju City, Gyeongbuk Province, and Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Wolsong Nuclear Power Headquarters, and organized by Saehwarang Youth Union.

At the Good News Co Festival, about 300 domestic university student performers who have volunteered overseas in 80 countries around the world will present various performances including overseas cultural and artistic experience booths, traditional overseas cultural performances, Good News Band, and the wholesome dance team Lighters Stars.

Admission is free for all 1,800 seats, and anyone from nearby Gyeongbuk residents including Gyeongju, Pohang, Ulsan, Yeongcheon, Daegu, and Gyeongju citizens can attend. An online live broadcast is planned to join people worldwide.

Through this event, it is expected that both Gyeongbuk residents and Gyeongju citizens will be motivated to take active interest and voluntarily promote the hosting of the 2025 APEC Summit in Gyeongju.

Mayor Ju Nak-young of Gyeongju said, “Through this performance, we will inform the world that Gyeongju is the best location to host the 2025 APEC Summit and provide wonderful traditional overseas cultural performances to Gyeongbuk residents who could not travel abroad during the COVID-19 era.”
