Lecture by Poet Lee Daeheum, Author of Si;Talk (詩;talk)
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seung-hyun Jeong] Jeonnam Jangheung-gun Jeongnamjin Library announced on the 28th that it plans to operate the ‘Visiting Local Author Literature Lecture’ hosted by the Jeollanam-do Provincial Library.
The ‘Visiting Local Author Literature Lecture’ is being promoted in collaboration with local authors from cities and counties by the Jeollanam-do Provincial Library.
The organizers intend to use this as an opportunity to comfort local residents exhausted by COVID-19 and to expand the limited opportunities to enjoy literature.
This lecture, ‘Lee Dae-heum’s Poetry; Talk (詩;talk),’ is a practical poetry creation class based on poet Lee Dae-heum’s poetry writing textbooks ‘Poetry Talk 1, 2, 3,’ teaching easy starting methods anyone can follow and enabling participants to write their own original poems.
In particular, this poetry creation lecture is held in a county designated as a literary tourism special zone, raising expectations among participants.
Poet Lee Dae-heum, a native of Jangheung, debuted in 1994 with six poems including ‘Looking at Jeamsan’ published in the spring issue of ‘Creation and Criticism.’
Since then, he has received numerous awards such as the Jo Tae-il Literary Award, the Yook Sa Poetry Literary Award, and the Aeji Literary Award, and continues his writing activities in his hometown Jangheung with poetry collections including You Are a Person from Bukcheon and My Ears Are Sensitive.
The literature lecture is scheduled to be held every Monday at 7 p.m. from July 4 to August 1 at Jeongnamjin Library, recruiting 20 students on a first-come, first-served basis.
Applications can be made by phone through Jeongnamjin Library.
A Jeongnamjin Library official said, “Jeongnamjin Library will strive to expand the cultural base of local residents by performing various roles as a public space in the local community.”
