Jogye Order Publishes 'Buddhist Social Research Institute Comprehensive Report 2'

[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] The Buddhist Society Research Institute of the Baeknyeon Dae Gye Headquarters of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism has published the 'Comprehensive Report 2 of the Buddhist Society Research Institute.' It summarizes the achievements of the institute from June 2016 to last year.

The institute highlighted four major achievements. It explained that the institute ▲ set mid- to long-term strategic tasks ▲ conducted research to form a universal discourse on the social role of religion ▲ pioneered new tasks and fields on how to convey Buddhism to future generations of youth ▲ and expanded the scope from the framework of patriotic Buddhism to 'modern society and Buddhism.'

Woncheol Sunim, head of the Buddhist Society Research Institute, stated, “As a research institution representing the Jogye Order, despite various limitations, the Buddhist Society Research Institute will produce policies needed by the order and do its best to contemplate the social realization of Buddhist values. We ask for the unwavering interest and encouragement of the entire Buddhist community.”
