[Asia Economy Reporter Geum Bo-ryeong] It has been reported that on the 6th of next month, for the first time since the launch of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, a high-level meeting involving the People Power Party, the government, and the Presidential Office will be held.
According to ruling party officials on the 28th, the People Power Party, the government, and the Presidential Office plan to hold a high-level party-government-presidential meeting on the 6th of next month.
From the People Power Party, Party Leader Lee Jun-seok, Floor Leader Kwon Seong-dong, Secretary-General Han Ki-ho, and Policy Committee Chairperson Seong Il-jong are expected to attend. From the government, Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Choo Kyung-ho, and Minister of Government Policy Coordination Bang Moon-kyu are expected to participate.
From the Presidential Office, Chief Secretary Kim Dae-gi and Senior Secretary for Political Affairs Lee Jin-bok are also expected to be present.
An expected attendee told Asia Economy in a phone interview, "I was told to come to the Prime Minister’s official residence in Samcheong-dong, Seoul, at 11 a.m. on the 6th."
The party-government-presidential meeting was originally scheduled to be held at the end of this month, but it was postponed to next month due to President Yoon Seok-yeol’s visit to Spain to attend the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit and Floor Leader Kwon’s dispatch as a special envoy to the inauguration ceremony of the Philippine president.
At the meeting, measures to stabilize the cost of living, including prices, which the party and government need to address, as well as legislation and policies related to regulatory reform, are expected to be discussed.
