Lotte Confectionery Volunteers Dental Care in Underserved Areas Riding the 'Xylitol Bus'

Lotte Confectionery Volunteers Dental Care in Underserved Areas Riding the 'Xylitol Bus' Dental treatment is being conducted on the Lotte Confectionery Dr. Xylitol Bus.

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Lotte Confectionery is actively engaging in social contribution activities using the sales proceeds from its flagship product, Xylitol Gum.

On the 29th, Lotte Confectionery announced that, based on the judgment that dental health is closely related to health management for the 100-year life era, it is conducting various projects such as mobile dental clinics for medically underserved areas, oral disease prevention campaigns, and oral care education for children and adolescents using the proceeds from Xylitol Gum sales.

In particular, "Doctor Xylitol Bus is Coming" is a representative social contribution project of Lotte Confectionery's Xylitol Gum. This project has been jointly promoted by Lotte Confectionery and the Korean Dental Association since 2013. It is a campaign where a professional dental medical team travels once a month to medically underserved areas in a mobile dental clinic bus called the Doctor Xylitol Bus, providing dental treatment services and various public welfare activities. It has been conducted more than 90 times as of May this year.

In May, on Children's Day, the campaign attracted attention by visiting Bobath Children's Clinic in Yongin City. The cumulative number of volunteers participating in the campaign includes about 230 dentists, and about 550 dental hygienists and volunteers. So far, more than 5,000 dental patients have received treatment, with nearly 6,000 treatment cases.
