[Asia Economy Reporter Junho Hwang] Daishin Asset Management, a subsidiary of Daishin Securities, is making a full-scale entry into the exchange-traded fund (ETF) market.
On the 28th, Daishin Asset Management announced that it will newly list the 'Daishin343K200 ETF,' which tracks the KOSPI 200 index, on the Korea Stock Exchange.
This ETF invests in key leading domestic companies that make up the KOSPI 200 index, including Samsung Electronics, LG Energy Solution, SK Hynix, Samsung Biologics, LG Chem, and Naver.
The product uses a full replication strategy that includes all the stocks comprising the KOSPI 200 index as announced by the Korea Exchange. The portfolio is constructed to have a rate of change similar to the underlying index to minimize tracking error. Market capitalization, sector, individual stocks, and excess fluctuations are monitored in real-time.
This product has lower fees compared to general funds, and it offers excellent liquidity as it can be bought and sold at any time without redemption fees or redemption periods. The total trust fee is 0.1% per year. Shinhan Financial Investment, Kiwoom Securities, DB Financial Investment, BNK Investment & Securities, and NH Investment & Securities participate as liquidity providers.
Jung Man-sung, Head of Passive Management Group at Daishin Asset Management, said regarding ETF management, "We will apply the know-how gained from successfully managing the KOSPI 200 index fund over a long period," adding, "This ETF launch signifies expanding our business area from mainly profit certificates to ETFs."
