Installation of a 'Sharing Pantry' to Promote 'Nanum Culture' in Songjeong 1-dong, Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] On the 28th, a hub for nurturing a richer community through sharing opened in Songjeong 1-dong, Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City.

The Songjeong 1-dong Community Security Council (Chairman Gi Youngcheol) established the 'Gongyugotgan' through a village welfare plan, a space where goods or food can be freely shared. It was installed at the entrance of the Songjeong 1-dong Administrative Welfare Center.

With display shelves and refrigerators, any resident can place unused items or uneaten food, and those in need can freely take them. They plan to carefully manage item damage and food expiration dates.

It is expected to become a hub that recycles resources, reduces waste generation, and activates sharing and exchange among neighbors.

Gi Youngcheol, chairman of the Songjeong 1-dong Community Security Council, said, “The village welfare plan, which residents directly created last year, has borne fruit this year,” and added, “We will make further efforts to revive the village welfare community through the Gongyugotgan project.”
