[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Nexon announced on the 28th that it has partnered with the global programming education brand “Like a Cool Lion” as the first official education partner for its content creation and service platform ‘PROJECT MOD’.
Through this partnership, both companies plan to carry out various collaborative programs to activate content creation based on ‘PROJECT MOD’ targeting university students.
As the first collaboration, they will hold the ‘PROJECT MOD X Supporters Hackathon 2022’ for university members of ‘Like a Cool Lion.’ Hackathon participants will be tasked with creating and launching content on the ‘PROJECT MOD’ platform, and after the event, outstanding works will be selected and awarded a total prize of 16 million KRW.
Additionally, ‘Like a Cool Lion’ members will be able to enhance their understanding of programming and create high-quality content using ‘PROJECT MOD’ through diverse educational content to be introduced in the second half of this year. A large-scale ‘Super Hackathon’ releasing content on PROJECT MOD is also planned for October.
Lee Doo-hee, CEO of Like a Cool Lion, said, “I am pleased to create hackathons and classes for aspiring creators who want to grow in the game industry together with Nexon,” adding, “We will continue to strive to create classes where participants can enjoy making products, not just learning simple coding.”
Kim Dae-hwan, Vice President of Nexon, said, “We look forward to presenting excellent programs with the educational expertise of ‘Like a Cool Lion,’” and added, “We hope university students dreaming of becoming developers will find joy in content creation through PROJECT MOD.”
