"Collaboration with Tech Companies Concentrated in Gangnam and Pangyo Areas - Easier to Secure Tech Talent Such as Developers and Data Scientists"
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Hyundai Card announced on the 28th that it has opened and started operating its first base office, the 'Digital Office Gangnam,' at The Asset Tower in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. This follows the introduction of a permanent remote work system and marks an innovation in the way of working.
The Digital Office Gangnam consists of workspaces, video conference booths, rest areas, meeting rooms, and an OA zone where various office supplies can be used. The workspaces are designed with three themes reflecting employees' work characteristics: digital type, security type, and focus type.
The digital type has a total of 6 seats, equipped with two monitors on a wide table that can be freely moved, facilitating digital tasks such as data analysis and app development as well as collaboration with colleagues. The focus type has 9 seats arranged in a honeycomb pattern, allowing employees to concentrate on their work without distractions. The security type, consisting of 4 seats, uses high partitions to block external views and separates space and flow, making it suitable for tasks requiring a high level of security.
Additionally, the Digital Office Gangnam has a separate video conference booth that allows headquarters and base office workers, as well as permanent remote workers, to conduct video meetings conveniently. Furthermore, meeting rooms and separate rest areas are provided for face-to-face meetings, creating a work environment equivalent to the headquarters.
Any Hyundai Card employee can apply and freely use the Digital Office Gangnam through the intranet and mobile. The usage process is also simple. On the day of use, employees authenticate with their MyD (employee ID) at an unmanned terminal installed at the office entrance, and the digital nameplate information is automatically reflected on the reserved seat and locker. When leaving, tagging the employee ID on the unmanned terminal completes all usage procedures.
Hyundai Card expects that the Digital Office Gangnam, established to reduce commuting burdens for employees living in the southeastern Seoul area and nearby suburbs, will help secure tech talent such as developers and data scientists and facilitate collaboration with tech companies concentrated in the Gangnam and Pangyo areas. Starting with the Digital Office Gangnam, Hyundai Card plans to steadily expand digital offices at major bases nationwide to reduce employees' commuting burdens.
A Hyundai Card official said, "Since last April, we have been specifically considering various work styles to change the way and environment of working," adding, "We expect the Digital Office to help reduce employees' commuting burdens and improve work efficiency."
