US-Iran Indirect Talks on Nuclear Deal Restoration in Qatar on 28th

[Asia Economy New York=Special Correspondent Joselgina] Reports have emerged that indirect talks between Iran and the United States to restore the Iran nuclear deal (JCPOA - Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) will be held in Doha, Qatar on the 28th (local time).

According to major foreign media on the 27th, Nasser Kahani, spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told the state-run IRNA news agency, "Ali Bagheri-Kani, the chief Iranian representative, will go to Doha on the 28th for nuclear negotiations." The U.S. State Department also confirmed that the indirect talks with Iran will take place in Doha.

The current indirect talks between the U.S. and Iran are reported to be conducted separately from the Vienna talks in Austria, which involve all parties to the agreement. Until now, negotiations to restore the nuclear deal have been held in Vienna with delegations from Iran, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, China, and Russia attending. The U.S. has participated indirectly in those talks.

The negotiations have been deadlocked since March. It is reported that the final stumbling block is the issue of removing the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps from the U.S. terrorist list.
