Gijang-gun Seaweed Breeding Fusion Research Center Opens Marine and Fisheries Specialized 'Badasup Small Library' Officials from the Gijang-gun Seaweed Breeding Fusion Research Center and attendees of the 'Badasup Small Library' opening ceremony are conducting the opening event.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] On the 27th, the Gijang-gun Seaweed Breeding Convergence Research Center (Seaweed Research Center) held an opening ceremony for the 'Sea Forest Small Library,' established to serve as a hub for marine and fisheries information and to create a complex reading culture space for local residents.


The opening ceremony was attended by Jeong Im-su, Deputy Governor of Gijang-gun, Lee Chun-woo, Chairman of the Korea Fisheries Resources Agency, Kim Jong-i, Director of External Cooperation at the Kori Nuclear Power Headquarters, County Council members Hwang Un-cheol and Park Woo-sik, and representatives of residents.


A total project cost of 190 million KRW, including 100 million KRW in national funding, was invested in the 'Sea Forest Small Library.'


The library, with an area of 296㎡, is located on the 4th floor of the Seaweed Research Center and is divided into a general reading room and a children's reading room. It is equipped with a total of 34 seats, including an open reading desk, BAR-type reading desks, and digital reading desks.


It holds about 7,000 volumes, including books on marine and fisheries fields as well as general children's books, and also provides educational materials, movie DVDs, and periodical services.


Anyone who is a citizen of Busan or a worker or student located in Busan can use the library, which operates from Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., excluding weekends and public holidays. Members can borrow up to 5 books per person for 15 days.


A representative of the Seaweed Research Center said, "We plan to collect and provide high-quality materials not only related to marine and fisheries but also general books to local residents, and operate various programs to become a complex community where residents can participate together."
