Yeosu·Gwangyang Port Accelerates ESG Management for Sustainable Development
Emphasizing ESG Significance through Trash Picking Plogging Event
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Park Seong-hyun, YGPA) announced on the 27th that it held an ‘ESG Management Declaration Ceremony’ for the sustainable development of Yeosu·Gwangyang Port and YGPA at Baealdo Waterfront Park in Gwangyang City.
The event was held with the participation of about 30 executives and employees, including President Park Seong-hyun, sharing the newly established ‘YGPA 2025+ ESG Management Strategy’ and declaring the will to practice it both internally and externally.
Starting with this declaration ceremony, YGPA plans to fully promote ESG management by implementing 12 strategic tasks, 67 execution tasks, and 98 performance indicators (KPIs) across the entire organization.
Additionally, YGPA executives and employees conducted an event signaling the full-scale start of ESG management by combining the declaration ceremony with a plogging activity to pick up trash at Baealdo Waterfront Park.
President Park Seong-hyun said, “YGPA, a clean platform connecting land and sea! To achieve this ESG vision, we will do our best to expand the environmental value of the port and create an eco-friendly and smart port.”
He added, “Through people-centered social value management and the establishment of transparent and fair governance, we will become an institution loved by the local community and trusted by the public.”
