[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] The transition team plans to propose the establishment of a provisional "Gyeongnam Social Grand Integration Committee" to Governor-elect Park Wan-su, aiming to start the Gyeongnam governorship "with certainty from the beginning."
The transition team stated, "We must resolve conflicts and divisions among generations, genders, regions, ideologies, and classes that are spread throughout society in order to move forward," emphasizing the necessity of establishing the committee.
They added, "Through consecutive election processes such as the presidential election, national division has deepened and our society has been completely torn apart; at the very least, Gyeongnam must address this issue."
Following the transition team’s proposal, the Gyeongnam Social Grand Integration Committee is expected to play a role in healing the deeply rooted conflicts and wounds within the local community and establishing a culture of coexistence and mutual prosperity through a public discourse process on Gyeongnam Province’s overall policies.
The transition team plans to involve key figures from various sectors including academia, civil society organizations, professional groups, women, and youth in the committee to secure expertise and innovation.
After the governor’s inauguration, further discussions among related departments will be held to specify detailed operational plans for the committee, and the enactment of ordinances to provide institutional grounds will also be considered.
Transition team leader Jeong Si-sik said, "Continuous exhausting confrontations and conflicts do not help the lives of the province’s residents at all," adding, "We must quickly mend the divided public sentiment and achieve grand integration."
