Mid-July, First Appointment and Rotation Personnel Changes Scheduled
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Lee Byung-sun, the mayor-elect of Sokcho, has set the administrative slogan as "Citizens as One, Sokcho Towards the Future."
The inauguration ceremony on the 1st will be held simply without separate performances or pre-ceremony events, considering the citizens' economic hardships due to high oil prices and inflation, and to avoid unnecessary administrative effort and budget waste.
The mayor-elect has appointed Yoo Dong-seop, a native of Sokcho who has overseen practical affairs since the mayor-elect's Gangwon Provincial Assembly election, as the first chief secretary.
According to the Sokcho mayor transition committee, Yoo Dong-seop graduated from Sokcho High School (28th class) and Sangji University. He is evaluated as a suitable person for citizen harmony and communication due to his meticulous handling of practical matters, quiet personality, and good interpersonal relationships.
The mayor-elect plans to make a one-point personnel appointment on the morning of the term start date by replacing the head of the Autonomous Administration Division, marking the first personnel move of the 8th elected term.
Subsequently, promotions for vacant positions will be made as soon as possible, and moderate transfers centered on section chiefs and grade 6 team leaders will be conducted to bring changes to administrative operations.
Considering the need to accommodate unpopular departments, women and minority job categories, and the rapid increase in newly appointed employees over the past five years, personnel changes will be made to support diverse skill acquisition and enhance expertise, including job rotation among business departments.
Additionally, in preparation for the early commencement and completion of the Dongseo High-Speed Railway and one year ahead of the implementation of the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, a large-scale regular personnel reshuffle is planned for October.
Kang Jeong-ho, spokesperson for the transition committee, said, "The personnel appointments and transfers scheduled for mid-July aim to inject new vitality into the existing organization and transform it into an organization that works for the citizens."
