Adieu! The 8th Hapcheon County Council Disbandment Ceremony Held The 8th Hapcheon County Council Disbandment Ceremony.


[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Hapcheon County Council in Gyeongnam held the closing ceremony of the 8th council on the 27th at the main conference hall on the 2nd floor of the Hapcheon County Council building.


About 50 people, including members of the 8th council and related officials, attended the event, which proceeded with the presentation of a plaque of appreciation from Acting Mayor Lee Seon-gi of Hapcheon County and employee plaques, viewing of a video on council activities, speeches by the 8th council members, and a commemorative photo session.


At the closing ceremony, Chairman Seok Man-jin said, “The 8th council, which set sail in July 2018, carried out various policy developments and active council activities for the residents, directly listened to the voices of the residents through forums and meetings, and strengthened communication with the residents by breaking down the walls of the Hapcheon County Council through live broadcasts of plenary and standing committee meetings.” He added, “I express my respect and gratitude to all former council members who did their best during their terms, ranging from a short 4 years to a long 8 years.”


During its 4-year term, the 8th Hapcheon County Council held 38 sessions and processed 719 agenda items. The immediate formation of a special committee and recovery activities following flood damage caused by dam discharge in August 2020, as well as active cooperation with the executive branch to secure compensation for affected residents, are regarded as representative council activities of the 8th Hapcheon County Council.


The 9th Hapcheon County Council will officially begin its term starting with the 264th extraordinary session and the opening ceremony of the 9th council on July 5.
