Huawei Announces Recruitment for Global ICT Program Participants

[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] Huawei announced on the 27th that it is recruiting Korean participants for 'Seeds for the Future 2022,' a global ICT convergence talent development program for university and graduate students in the Asia-Pacific region, to be held in August.

Seeds for the Future, operated by Huawei since 2008, is a social contribution program started to support young talents worldwide in researching advanced ICT technologies and acquiring professional knowledge and skills. Over the past 14 years, more than 120,000 students from 137 countries and regions have participated.

This year's program will be held in Thailand for 10 days from August 18 to August 27. During this period, participating students will take ICT education courses including cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), 5G, and digital power, as well as lectures on strategic leadership.

They will also carry out team projects with students from Asia-Pacific countries such as Singapore, Japan, and Thailand. Students must propose technical solutions to social problems using the ICT skills learned in the lectures, and the winning team will have the opportunity to participate in the 'Tech for Good Accelerator Camp' held in Singapore. Seeds for the Future participants will also be offered exchange programs to experience Asia-Pacific cultures, including visits to global villages.

Applications are open until July 3, after which 10 final participants will be selected through document screening and interviews. Huawei will cover the program participation fees. Detailed information can be found on the official blog of Huawei Korea.
