[Asia Economy Reporter Intern Lee Gye-hwa] A man in his 20s who caused a drunk driving accident and assaulted the driver of the other vehicle as well as a police officer has been arrested by the police. It is reported that the man also assaulted the responding police officer.
On the 27th, the Yangpyeong Police Station in Gyeonggi announced that they had booked a man in his 20s, identified as Mr. A, without detention on charges of assault and obstruction of official duties.
Mr. A is accused of hitting the other driver about 10 times after causing a collision due to drunk driving on a road in Yangseo-myeon, Yangpyeong-gun, at around 3:30 a.m. on the 19th.
At the time, Mr. A's blood alcohol concentration was investigated to be above 0.08%, the level for license cancellation.
