Naju City’s 8th Mayoral Term Policy Goals: “A Livable and Happy Naju, Leading Top Naju”

[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] The new administrative slogan (goal) for the 8th term of the Naju city government, set to launch on the 1st of next month, has been selected as "A Livable Happy Naju, A Leading Prime Naju."

The Transition Committee for Mayor Yoon Byeongtae of Naju announced on the 27th that through a public contest for the city administration goal held from the 13th to the 21st, "A Livable Happy Naju, A Leading Prime Naju" was finally confirmed as the slogan for the 8th term city administration.

A total of 66 entries were received in this contest, which set the direction for the 8th term city administration, encapsulating Naju’s future hopes and vision, the development of Naju as the energy capital in the global era, and the happiness and aspirations of 120,000 citizens.

The Transition Committee selected a total of four winning entries, including the grand prize, excellence prize, and two encouragement prizes, based on criteria such as "symbolism," "appropriateness," and "empathy," ranked by the number of votes received.

Along with the final selected slogan, the applicants of the phrases "Naju, the Energy Capital with a More Hopeful Tomorrow" (Grand Prize), "A Thousand-Year Naju, a Happy City to Live in the Future" (Excellence Prize), "Naju Shining United with Citizens" and "Naju’s Great Transformation Era Made Together with Citizens" (Encouragement Prizes) will hold a separate awards ceremony.

The finalized slogan for the 8th term, "A Livable Happy Naju, A Leading Prime Naju," will be widely used for city administration promotion, as well as on the city hall and administrative welfare center signboards.

Yeo Seonggu, Chairperson of the Naju Mayor Transition Committee, said about the slogan, "It encapsulates the strong hope of citizens to create a livable Naju where all 120,000 citizens are happy and enjoy the highest quality of life, with its thousand-year-old rich history and culture, the Yeongsan River?the lifeline of the Namdo region?and the generous Naju Plain."

He added, "It also expresses Mayor-elect Yoon’s firm determination to prepare for and lead the future in all fields, including Bitgaram Innovation City, Korea Energy Engineering University, and the energy new industry hub."
