Mercedes-Benz Conducts Volunteer Activity Painting 'Ansim Dambyurak' Mural Wall

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] The Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Committee announced on the 27th that it conducted a mural painting volunteer activity called ‘Mercedes-Benz All Together Safe School Wall’ in Namcheon-dong, Suyeong-gu, Busan, to create safe school routes.

The ‘Samik Yusu Pool’ located in Namcheon-dong had been abandoned for nearly 20 years since its closure, raising concerns about the school routes and pedestrian environment of the nearby Busan Gwangnam Elementary School. To create a safe local environment, the area was selected as a volunteer activity site upon the suggestion of the Busan Southern Police Station and Suyeong District Office.

This ‘Safe Wall’ mural painting volunteer activity was carried out together with about 50 employees from Star Motors and Hanseong Motors, official Mercedes-Benz dealers. The completed mural contains traffic safety messages, which are expected not only to raise drivers’ awareness of traffic law compliance but also to revitalize the previously neglected space, thereby improving the school commuting and pedestrian environment.

Meanwhile, the ‘Safe School Wall’ mural painting volunteer activity has been a traffic safety campaign conducted at seven elementary schools in Seoul and Busan since its introduction in 2017. It contributes to creating safe and enjoyable school routes by raising drivers’ vigilance when passing through children protection zones and enhancing young pedestrians’ traffic safety awareness.
