[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] BMW Group Korea announced on the 27th that it will unveil the BMW i7, a pure electric flagship sedan, and the new 2 Series Active Tourer, reborn as a second-generation model, for the first time in Korea at the ‘2022 Busan International Motor Show’ opening on the 15th of next month. Along with these, a total of 21 models will be exhibited, including the BMW iX M60 and i4 M50, MINI brand’s first pure electric model MINI Electric, and BMW Motorrad’s pure electric motorcycle BMW CE 04.
As the only imported car brand participating in this Busan International Motor Show, BMW Group Korea plans to present a diverse range of electrified models from BMW, MINI, and BMW Motorrad brands, showcasing a multifaceted approach and leadership toward future mobility.
First, BMW will introduce two models for the first time in Korea under the theme of ‘Driving Pleasure Leading the Future’: the pure electric flagship sedan i7 and the new 2 Series Active Tourer, which combines excellent versatility with the brand’s unique sporty driving sensation. High-performance pure electric models reflecting BMW M’s expertise, such as the iX M60 and i4 M50, will also be exhibited.
Additionally, high-performance internal combustion M models such as the new M850i xDrive Gran Coupe, new M240i xDrive Coupe, new M4 Competition Convertible M xDrive, and new X3 M Competition will be showcased to introduce BMW’s pursuit of ‘Dynamic Driving Pleasure.’
MINI, under the theme ‘MINI, from Heritage to the Future,’ will unveil for the first time in Korea the limited edition ‘MINI JCW Anniversary Edition,’ celebrating the 60th anniversary of the high-performance brand JCW, and the electrified version of MINI JCW, the MINI Electric Pacesetter. Models such as the ‘MINI JCW Clubman,’ ‘MINI JCW Countryman,’ ‘MINI JCW Convertible,’ and the brand’s first pure electric model ‘MINI Electric’ will be exhibited to showcase MINI’s racing DNA and brand vision.
BMW Motorrad, themed ‘Enjoy the Future Like a Rider,’ will exhibit three models including the pure electric motorcycle BMW CE 04, which offers sustainable riding pleasure, and the luxury grand tourer new R 18 Transcontinental.
Meanwhile, BMW Group Korea plans to provide visitors with unique enjoyment through various on-site events, including live streaming the press conference on July 14 and the public day booth tour on the 15th via its official YouTube channel.
