[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Ji-woon] Jeonnam Hwasun-gun announced on the 27th that it is recruiting candidates for the ‘2022 Returning to Farming Agricultural Start-up and Housing Purchase Support Project’ until the 25th of next month.

The recruitment targets are ▲returnees who have continuously lived in urban areas for more than one year before moving to rural areas and have been residing in rural areas for less than five years ▲‘Non-agricultural residents’ who live in rural areas but are not engaged in agriculture.

Applicants must complete more than 100 hours of education related to returning to farming and farming.

Returnees who have been residing for less than five years can apply for start-up funds and housing purchase costs, while non-agricultural residents can only apply for start-up funds.

However, only household heads under the age of 65 can apply for start-up funds.

Those who have jobs in industries other than agriculture at the time of application, holders of business registration certificates in other industries, those with a comprehensive income amount excluding agriculture of 37 million KRW or more in the year prior to application, those who have not fulfilled military service obligations, those who are overdue or undergoing rehabilitation with financial institutions cannot receive support.

Applications can be submitted by downloading the application form and other required documents from the public notice section on the county office website and submitting them to the Future Agriculture Team at the Hwasun-gun Agricultural Technology Center.

The county plans to select support recipients after reviewing the feasibility of the business plan, appropriateness of the loan repayment plan, awareness of business guidelines, and willingness to settle in farming.

Due to the mandatory in-depth interview evaluation, applicants must attend the interview.

If selected, agricultural start-up funds will be provided as loans up to 300 million KRW, and housing purchase costs up to 75 million KRW, with an interest rate of 2% (5-year grace period, 10-year installment repayment).

A county official said, “We hope new farmers use the start-up funds as a stepping stone to achieve successful returning to farming,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to discover support measures that reduce the burden on farmers.”
