Virtual Fire Drill for Vehicle Fire During CNG Passenger Car Charging

Daesung Energy conducted an emergency fire drill at the Hayang CNG Charging Station located in Wachon-myeon, Gyeongsan City, with the participation of employees and officials from the Hayang 119 Safety Center of the Gyeongsan Fire Station.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Daesung Energy conducted a virtual emergency drill for fire preparedness at the Hayang CNG Charging Station located in Wachon-myeon, Gyeongsan City, with the participation of about 10 people including executives, employees, and officials from the Hayang 119 Safety Center of the Gyeongsan Fire Station.

The CNG charging station emergency drill is conducted sequentially at one of the 12 charging stations each month, aiming to improve the response capability to emergencies such as gas leaks and fires.

On this day, the drill simulated a situation where a vehicle fire occurred in the trunk area during the charging of a CNG passenger car, and comprehensively checked ▲ the ability to respond to on-site situations such as fire suppression and emergency shut-off of the inlet valve ▲ accuracy of on-site situation reporting ▲ rapid communication of the situation from the control room to related agencies ▲ and on-site control capabilities including evacuation and rescue of people.

Jeon Jeong-ho, head of Daesung Energy, said, “Due to the characteristics of high-pressure gas, errors in initial situation assessment can cause fatal damage,” and added, “Let us each make efforts to improve situational awareness and response capabilities by thinking of ourselves as the first discoverer in case of an emergency.”
