[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Silla University College of Aviation held the "Aviation Job Gyeongsang Region Relay Mentoring" on the 24th for students aspiring to work in the aviation industry.

Hosted by the Aviation Job Employment Support Center, the event was organized to resolve the imbalance of recruitment information between the metropolitan area and local regions by providing vivid in-depth information from current mentors, and to support employment in the aviation field and motivate academic pursuits.

The event, held by region including Gyeongsang, Jeolla, Gangwon, and Gyeonggi, was hosted by Silla University for the second consecutive year representing the Gyeongsang region.

About 220 students from Silla University College of Aviation shared knowledge on aviation-related jobs and employment preparation through mentoring sessions covering ▲understanding aviation job roles ▲essential competencies for employment ▲success stories from current professionals in each field ▲aviation employment strategies ▲effective university life.

Mentors included Jin Air Captain Song In-seong (aviation piloting), Air Busan Senior Technician Kang Tae-su (aviation maintenance), ANA Flight Attendant Myeong Yeoul (cabin crew), and Korea Airports Corporation Assistant Manager Kang Ji-yoon (airport public enterprise), all experts currently working in the aviation industry.

Um Hyun-sook, CEO of Deokbun Ae Emotional Education Consulting, gave a special lecture on employment titled "Employment Strategies to Enhance My Competitiveness."

Silla University also took time to review the essential competencies required to become a prepared local talent in anticipation of the opening of the new Gadeok Airport, and to assess expectations for Silla University, which possesses a specialized aviation college in the aviation industry field.

Kim Geun-na, a student in the Department of Aviation Services, said, "It was good to hear practical employment information about the aviation industry that has changed since COVID-19," adding, "Based on the valuable tips from the mentor experts, I will prepare well for the public recruitment in the second half of the year and definitely achieve my dream of becoming a flight attendant."

Kim Jae-won, Dean of the College of Aviation, said, "I am pleased that Silla University is hosting the event representing the Gyeongsang region with the support of the Aviation Job Employment Support Center," and added, "We will frequently hold meaningful times to strengthen students' employment competitiveness, such as mentoring events."

Silla University has the only aviation college in the southeastern region, consisting of five departments: Aviation Operation, Aviation Maintenance, Aviation Services, Aviation Logistics, and Air Traffic Management.

The university is fully committed to nurturing talent who will become key players in the regional aviation industry through practical education led by excellent faculty in the aviation field.
