[Breaking] First Case of CEO Indicted for Violation of Serious Accident Punishment Act at Changwon District Prosecutors' Office

The Criminal Division 4 of Changwon District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Lee Seung-hyung) announced on the 27th that it has prosecuted Mr. A, the CEO of an air conditioner parts manufacturing company, without detention on charges of violating the Serious Accidents Punishment Act (industrial accident injury).

Mr. A is accused of causing workers to suffer from occupational diseases such as toxic hepatitis by failing to fully implement safety measures, including the installation of local exhaust ventilation, despite using a cleaning agent containing the hazardous substance trichloromethane during the manufacturing process of air conditioner parts from September last year to February this year at the company where he serves as CEO.
