Former People Power Party Emergency Committee Chairman Kim Jong-in stated on the 27th about the political landscape in Korea, "Political parties have shown little difference before or after democratization," adding, "If the parties do not respond after confirming the voters' will in elections, they have no future."
At a lecture hosted by the 'Korea Future Innovation Forum,' led by People Power Party lawmaker Jang Je-won at the National Assembly, Kim said, "Because the People Power Party is rooted as the president's party, its members only focus on the president. As a result, it cannot develop politically in a significant way."
Kim also emphasized the need for party political reform, saying, "Unlike in the past, numerous interest groups have emerged. It is necessary to consider how to coordinate interests with these groups and reflect them in policies to achieve harmony. The place that must handle this is the political party."

At the forum attended by about 50 People Power Party lawmakers, including pro-Yoon faction member Jeong Jin-seok and Ahn Cheol-soo, attention was drawn. In his opening remarks, Jeong said, "The crushing defeat in the general election two years ago was unprecedented. We invited former Chairman Kim in a situation where we could not dream of the future. The current People Power Party is the party that Kim Jong-in is shaping," adding, "He told me it was a 'moment of the stars' and asked me to convey that to President Yoon Seok-yeol."
Ahn Cheol-soo, known to have a strained relationship with former Chairman Kim, received the microphone from Jeong during the event. Ahn said, "I have read all the books written by former Chairman Kim, and while reading the one explaining the basics of politics to 20-year-old university students, I reflected on why I had not realized such fundamental meanings during my 10 years in politics," adding, "I decided to use that content as a guiding principle for my lifelong political career."
