[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] The KOSPI market recovered the 2400 level as foreigners switched to 'buying'. The KOSDAQ is also showing a rise of over 2%.


As of 10:25 AM on the 27th, the KOSPI was trading at 2402.00, up 1.50% (35.40 points) from the previous trading day. At 10:40 AM, it recorded the day's high of 2410.51, up 43.91 points from the previous trading day.


The KOSPI index opened at 2383.20, up 0.70% (16.60 points) from the previous trading day, then fell within about 20 minutes. However, it regained upward momentum and showed a mixed trend in the morning session but appears to be firmly supporting the 2400 level.


The renewed strength in the morning is due to foreigners switching to 'buying'. Foreigners and individuals are net buying 74.4 billion KRW and 72.7 billion KRW respectively. On the other hand, institutions alone are selling off 159.9 billion KRW. The scale of net selling by institutions has slightly increased compared to the early opening.

Among the top 10 stocks by market capitalization, only Samsung Biologics (-2.65%) is in a downtrend. SK Hynix (+4.04%), Hyundai Motor (+4.34%), Kia (+3.74%), and Samsung SDI (+3.45%) show notable gains. Samsung Electronics (+1.37%) still has not surpassed the 50,000 KRW mark (currently at 59,200 KRW).


Looking at sector performance, unlike the early opening, only telecommunications (-0.50%) is in decline. Transportation equipment (+3.95%), machinery (+3.34%), transportation and warehousing (+3.33%), and medical precision (+3.03%) sectors show noticeable gains.


In the KOSPI market, 844 stocks are rising while 56 are falling. Among them, Metalabs recorded a limit-up.


As of 10:33 AM, the KOSDAQ index is trading at 770.81, up 2.72% (20.44 points) from the previous trading day. The KOSDAQ index started the day at 758.00, up 1.03% (7.70 points) from the previous trading day, briefly narrowed its gains but is regaining strength.


Foreign selling pressure has decreased. Foreigners and institutions are net selling 89.4 billion KRW and 67.8 billion KRW respectively. Individuals are net buying 157.8 billion KRW.

Among the top 10 KOSDAQ stocks by market capitalization, only Alteogen (-1.57%) is in a downtrend. EcoPro BM (+8.50%) has somewhat calmed down compared to the over 10% surge right after the opening but still shows a sharp rise. Kakao Games (+7.09%) is also surging.


Currently, there are no declining sectors in KOSDAQ. The general electric and electronics sector (+6.22%) shows the most prominent rise, followed by non-metal (+4.08%), transportation equipment/parts (+3.56%), entertainment/culture (+3.49%), and paper/wood (+3.30%).


In the KOSDAQ market, 1,380 stocks are rising while 73 are falling. There are no stocks hitting upper or lower limits.
