HiteJinro and HiteJinro Beverage announced on the 27th that they will provide 64,000 bottles of 500ml Seoksu water to residents of the five major jjokbangchon in Seoul to prepare for the summer heatwave.
On the same day, HiteJinro held a Seoksu water delivery ceremony at the Seoul Station Jjokbang Counseling Center. The delivered Seoksu water will be supplied to five jjokbangchon in Seoul, including Yeongdeungpo and Changsin-dong. In the second half of the year, they plan to support samgyetang for the Boknal days and kimchi for winter.
Since 2013, HiteJinro has signed a joint cooperation agreement with the Seoul Metropolitan Government on "Cold wave and heatwave response and protection activities for housing-vulnerable groups," and has been supporting goods and relief services for 10 years. In addition, they continue “life-oriented” sharing activities such as providing hot packs and nutritious galbitang in preparation for the winter cold, and masks for COVID-19 prevention.
Kim In-gyu, CEO of HiteJinro, said, “We hope this will help jjokbangchon residents stay healthy during the hot summer,” and added, “As a 100-year company, we will strive to fulfill our social responsibility by practicing sharing for our neighbors.”
