[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] Hanil Cement has been selected as the number one company in the eco-friendly cement category for two consecutive years in the '2022 Consumer Well-being Environment Satisfaction Index (KS-WEI)' organized by the Korea Standards Association (KSA).

The '2022 Consumer Well-being Environment Satisfaction Index' evaluates 364 brands across 111 product and service categories based on five criteria: health functionality, environmental friendliness, usage safety, customer satisfaction, and social responsibility. A total of 72,800 consumers with experience using the products and services participated in the evaluation. Hanil Cement received the highest scores in four categories?health functionality, environmental friendliness, usage safety, and social responsibility?securing first place in the eco-friendly cement category.

Hanil Cement has proactively addressed construction site issues by launching products such as 'High-Density Floor Remital,' which reduces inter-floor noise, and Polyfix 1000 and Polyfix 2000 mortars that reduce dust by 80% compared to conventional tile adhesive mortars. The 'Premium Plastering Remital 25kg' product, which significantly reduces weight compared to the existing 40kg packaging, also contributes to the safety of aging site workers.

Hanil Cement has established an eco-friendly factory by installing power generation facilities using waste heat from the kiln at its Danyang cement plant and utilizing circular resource fuels. The company plans to invest 271 billion KRW in eco-friendly facilities by 2025 and increase the use of circular resource fuels from the current 37% to over 60%. Through ESG management, Hanil Cement aims to reduce carbon emissions by 30% by 2030.

Additionally, Hanil Cement introduced the 'Win-Win Cooperation Tomorrow Filling Deduction' system on the 10th to promote mutual growth with partner companies. Through this system, 1.9 billion KRW will be supported over two years to help partner company employees accumulate lump sums.

A Hanil Cement official stated, "Through this award, we reaffirm our status as a leading company in the cement industry and feel a heavy social responsibility. We will prioritize customer satisfaction and produce safe and eco-friendly products throughout all processes from production to sales."
