[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Genesis announced the key specifications and pricing of the 'G70 Shooting Brake' and stated that it will be launched on the 27th.

The G70 Shooting Brake is a model that expands the trunk cargo space on the exterior of the luxury sports sedan G70 to enhance practicality, designed to meet the needs of customers who enjoy various lifestyles.

The term Shooting Brake is a combination of 'shooting,' meaning hunting, and 'brake,' referring to a large carriage with a big cargo area, originating from the carriages used in the hunting culture enjoyed by European aristocrats in the 19th century.

The G70 Shooting Brake features a greater emphasis on dynamism within Genesis's design philosophy of 'dynamic elegance' and has sleek coupe-like proportions. Its dimensions are 4685mm in length, 1850mm in width, 1400mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2835mm.

The front features a crest grille inspired by the shield of the Genesis logo, positioned lower than the headlamps, with a two-line quad lamp design arranged diagonally on both sides of the grille, conveying a sense of speed and dynamism. The side profile highlights a unique silhouette, and the smoothly integrated side-rear glass extending to the rear adds a clean impression. The rear extends the quad lamps, which represent Genesis's identity, inside the trunk lid to create a distinctive image, and the trunk hinge is moved forward to maximize the opening area.

The interior of the G70 Shooting Brake inherits the driver-centric layout of the G70, reminiscent of a fighter jet cockpit, implementing an intuitive interior layout and emphasizing the beauty of empty space to create a neat atmosphere.

It also features powerful performance that provides a dynamic driving experience. The G70 Shooting Brake operates with a single gasoline 2.0 turbo powertrain, delivering a maximum output of 252 horsepower (ps), a peak torque of 36.0 kgf·m, and a combined fuel efficiency of 10.4 km/ℓ.

Genesis enhanced the product appeal by standardizing safety and convenience features highly preferred by customers in the G70 Shooting Brake. It protects occupants by applying a 10-airbag system, including a front seat center side airbag that prevents collisions between passengers during side impacts. Additionally, it is equipped with ▲Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist ▲Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist ▲Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist ▲Multi-Collision Brake System ▲Safe Exit Warning ▲Rear Occupant Alert to strengthen safety.

Genesis also offers a G70 Shooting Brake Sport model that delivers an even more dynamic driving experience. The Sport model is equipped with an electronically controlled suspension that automatically adjusts the vehicle's damping force to optimal levels according to driving conditions, maximizing driving stability and ride comfort, as well as a limited-slip differential that helps stable cornering while maintaining engine power.

In addition, it emphasizes a dynamic image by applying ▲Black-colored Brembo monoblock brakes ▲19-inch Michelin tires and sport-exclusive wheels ▲Spin-pattern aluminum door garnish and floor console ▲Sport-exclusive natural leather seats ▲Metal pedals and footrest ▲Dual mufflers.

The G70 Shooting Brake will go on sale starting from the 7th of next month, with prices beginning at 43.1 million KRW for the base (Premium) model and 47.03 million KRW for the Sport model.

Genesis introduced a unique sales method for the G70 Shooting Brake to quickly respond to domestic customer demand for a new vehicle segment and provide a differentiated purchasing experience. Based on data from customers who purchased existing sedan models, the most preferred specifications were analyzed, and 100 units with these specifications were produced first. These units will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis on the launch day through an 'open run' method, allowing for immediate delivery. Additionally, all open run buyers will receive an exclusive G70 Shooting Brake customization product, an air mat (usable when folding down the entire second-row seats).

Sales outside of the open run will proceed through Genesis's existing sales method, Your Genesis (a personalized sales approach). Genesis also offers a Lifestyle Package as an optional feature to provide customers with the highest convenience and safety. The Lifestyle Package includes ▲Head-Up Display ▲Genesis Digital Key ▲Front seat smartphone wireless charging ▲12.3-inch 3D cluster ▲Intelligent headlamps ▲Front seat ventilation and rear seat heating ▲Driver seat memory system and intelligent seat ▲Passenger lumbar support ▲Power-adjustable steering wheel.

Moreover, customers can choose from customization products reflecting preferences for various lifestyles, including car camping and camping.

To commemorate the launch of the G70 Shooting Brake, Genesis plans to exhibit the vehicle and offer test drive opportunities at the 2022 Busan International Motor Show, held for ten days starting from the 15th of next month.
