[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] Negative evaluations of President Yoon Seok-yeol's administration slightly surpassed positive evaluations within the margin of error. Although negative assessments stating that the "government is performing poorly" have steadily increased since the fourth week of May, this is the first time since his inauguration that negative evaluations have overtaken positive ones.
On the 27th, Realmeter conducted a survey from the 20th to the 24th of June targeting 2,515 people aged 18 and older nationwide to assess President Yoon's performance. The negative evaluation that the "government is performing poorly" rose by 2.3 percentage points compared to the previous survey (third week of June), reaching 47.7%.
Conversely, the positive evaluation that the "government is performing well" dropped by 1.4 percentage points to 46.6%, resulting in a 1.1 percentage point difference within the margin of error, with negative evaluations surpassing positive ones. This marks the first reversal in the same survey conducted by Realmeter since President Yoon's inauguration.
The "don't know" response decreased by 0.9 percentage points to 5.7%.
By region, positive evaluations declined in Incheon·Gyeonggi, Busan·Ulsan·Gyeongnam, and Gwangju·Jeolla. By age group, positive evaluations decreased among those aged 70 and older (down 6.3 percentage points), people in their 20s (down 4.3 percentage points), and those in their 40s (down 2.0 percentage points).
The margin of error for this survey is ±2.0 percentage points at a 95% confidence level. For more details, please refer to the Central Election Survey Deliberation Commission website.
