[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] ‘Domestic No. 1’ Park Min-ji (24) celebrates her third victory.
On the 26th, at Pocheon Hills Golf Club in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province (par 72, 6,610 yards), during the final third round of the KLPGA Tour BC Card-Hankyung Ladies Cup (total prize money 800 million KRW), Park Min-ji shot 2-under par to tie with ‘Mediheal Champ’ Park Ji-young (26) at 12-under par 204. She then secured the winning birdie on the first hole of the playoff at the 18th hole (par 5). This marks her third win of the season since her victory at the Celltrion Queens Masters on the 12th, her 13th career win, with a winner’s prize of 144 million KRW.
Starting two strokes behind in second place, Park Min-ji recorded four birdies and two bogeys. After consecutive birdies on holes 1 and 2, she steadied herself with a bogey on hole 3 (par 4), then secured back-to-back birdies on holes 4 and 5, extending her lead over the second-place group to four strokes. However, she made pars on the next 10 holes and faltered with a three-putt bogey on hole 16 (par 3). In the first playoff hole, despite a misjudged approach shot that didn’t leave the ball close to the hole, she successfully sank a 3-meter winning birdie putt, prompting cheers.
