KOSPI Rebounds Successfully... KOSDAQ Also Rising Over 2%

[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] The KOSPI index rebounded, buoyed by the previous day's rise in the US stock market.

As of 9:22 a.m. on the 24th, the KOSPI index was trading at 2,334.52, up 0.87% (20.20 points) from the previous trading day. The index opened at 2,327.11, up 0.55% (12.79 points) from the previous trading day.

By sector, all sectors except steel and metals (-0.71%), insurance (-0.68%), machinery (-0.37%), and transportation equipment (-0.04%) showed gains. These include electric power and gas (2.90%), precision medical instruments (2.56%), textiles and apparel (2.06%), services (1.72%), electrical and electronics (1.63%), pharmaceuticals (1.60%), construction (1.39%), and paper and wood (1.37%).

Among the top 10 stocks by market capitalization, all rose except LG Energy Solution (-0.13%), LG Chem (-1.45%), and Kia (-0.91%). Samsung Electronics, which had experienced a significant decline, showed strong performance with a 2.09% increase. Others include SK Hynix (1.44%), Samsung Biologics (0.61%), Samsung Electronics Preferred (1.34%), NAVER (1.92%), Samsung SDI (0.56%), and Hyundai Motor (0.58%).

At the same time, the KOSDAQ index stood at 731.41, up 2.38% (17.03 points) from the previous trading day. The index opened at 719.47, up 0.71% (5.09 points) from the previous trading day, and gradually increased its gains.

All sectors recorded gains. These include digital content (5.59%), IT software (4.09%), entertainment and culture (3.95%), pharmaceuticals (3.18%), semiconductors (3.03%), IT components (3.03%), IT hardware (2.91%), publishing and reproduction (2.76%), software (2.74%), and non-metallic minerals (2.68%).

All top 10 KOSDAQ stocks by market capitalization are on the rise. These include EcoPro BM (2.93%), Celltrion Healthcare (3.88%), L&F (3.21%), Kakao Games (9.64%), HLB (4.40%), Pearl Abyss (6.93%), Celltrion Pharm (2.91%), Alteogen (1.13%), Chunbo (3.18%), and CJ ENM (0.53%).
