Relief for Low-Income Households' Living Expenses Amid Inflation Starting from the 24th
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam Province, will provide the ‘Temporary Emergency Living Support Fund for Low-Income Households’ starting from the 24th to alleviate the livelihood burden of low-income families caused by rapid price increases and to enhance their consumption capacity.
The support targets approximately 2,500 households who, as of May 29 (the date of National Assembly resolution), are basic livelihood security recipients, legally designated second-lowest income brackets, or single-parent families eligible for child-rearing support.
The support amount varies by social security benefit qualification and household size: for basic livelihood security recipients receiving livelihood and medical benefits, it ranges from 400,000 KRW for a single-person household to 1,450,000 KRW for households with seven or more members; for those receiving housing and medical benefits, legally designated second-lowest income brackets, and single-parent families, it ranges from 300,000 KRW for a single-person household to 1,090,000 KRW for households with seven or more members. The funds will be provided in the form of prepaid cards.
The provided funds must be fully used by the end of this year, and considering the purpose of the support, usage will be restricted in certain industries such as entertainment, leisure, and gambling establishments.
Eligible households will be individually notified through notices and text messages by their respective eup/myeon offices. They do not need to apply separately; they can visit the eup/myeon office on the notified date with their ID to receive the card.
Park Eun-sook, Director of the Resident Welfare Division, stated, “We hope that this Temporary Emergency Living Support Fund for Low-Income Households will help alleviate the economic difficulties of low-income families even a little, and we will continue to strive for the stabilization of their livelihoods.”
