[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] SK C&C, Lunit, Vuno, and Deepnoid have formed an alliance to advance the 'medical artificial intelligence (AI)' business.


The four companies announced on the 23rd that they signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for 'creating a medical AI ecosystem and business cooperation.' The signing ceremony was held at SK-U Tower in Bundang, Gyeonggi Province, with about 10 officials attending, including Kim Wanjong, Head of Digital New Business Division at SK C&C, Jang Minhong, Chief Business Officer (CBO) of Lunit, Lee Yeha, CEO of Vuno, and Kim Taegyu, Executive Director of Deepnoid.


According to the agreement, the four companies plan to cooperate in sharing global industry and technology trends in the medical AI field, as well as joint sales and marketing to revitalize the medical AI market. They will select AI solutions for medical image interpretation by major body parts such as ▲chest diseases ▲breast cancer ▲brain diseases (cerebral hemorrhage, brain atrophy) ▲spinal diseases, and also promote the development of customized medical AI package products for medical institutions.


Additionally, this medical AI alliance will continuously collaborate to enhance compatibility among each company's medical AI solutions and to configure differentiated products considering the size of medical institutions and specialized medical departments. They also agreed to establish a specialized medical AI consultative body to create a medical AI ecosystem and jointly strive to revitalize the domestic medical AI industry.


Jang Minhong, CBO of Lunit, said, "This MOU is significant in that related companies have decided to unite their efforts to create a domestic medical AI ecosystem and revitalize the medical AI industry." He added, "We will continue various collaborative activities so that patients can experience a higher level of medical services through AI."
