Hyundai Heavy Industries Healthcare Company Partners with Kyobo Life for Digital Healthcare Collaboration

Joint Development of Health Management Solutions for Insurance Customers and Employees

[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] Mediplus Solution, a mobile healthcare solution company under Hyundai Heavy Industries Group, is partnering with Kyobo Life Insurance to develop digital healthcare solutions.

Mediplus Solution announced on the 22nd that it recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for strategic collaboration based on mutual investment in the digital healthcare sector with HD Hyundai, the holding company of Hyundai Heavy Industries Group, and Kyobo Life Insurance at Kyobo Life's headquarters in Seoul.

They will jointly develop healthcare solutions for insurance policyholders and corporate employees, and will promote pilot studies and commercialization together.

Mediplus Solution will be responsible for developing mobile application-based healthcare solutions, while Kyobo Life Insurance will handle the planning and sales of the healthcare solutions. HD Hyundai and Kyobo Life will support participation in pilot studies through the support of employees from Hyundai Heavy Industries Group and Kyobo Life Group.

The healthcare solution is a personalized health management service based on algorithms that manage nutrition, exercise, sleep, medication, blood sugar, and blood pressure. For corporate employees, mental health management functions for office workers will also be added.

A Hyundai Heavy Industries Group official said, "By combining Mediplus Solution's digital healthcare technology capabilities with Kyobo Life's customer management expertise, we will create a digital solution that enhances user convenience and versatility." He added, "After completing the pilot study scheduled for 2023 and achieving commercialization, we expect to discover business opportunities not only in the insurance industry but also in various other markets."
