[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] KOTRA announced on the 22nd that it will hold a customized comprehensive investment consultation and briefing session, "2022 PINVEST DAY," to support foreign investment consultations as part of its 60th anniversary projects, through a metaverse platform.
The event scheduled for the 23rd will feature a briefing session on ESG (Environment, Social, Governance), which is gaining attention as a global trend. In addition, the Seoul Investment Agency and local governments of Incheon, Gangwon, Daegu, Chungnam and Chungbuk, Jeonnam and Jeonbuk, and Gyeongnam and Gyeongbuk will expand regional consultation booths from 8 to 10, providing consultations on investment incentives and industrial sectors respectively. Furthermore, through public-private cooperation, three corporate booths introducing general and ESG-related financial products (deposits, loans, etc.) from Hana Bank, Shinhan Bank, and Kookmin Bank will be newly established and operated targeting foreign-invested companies.
Consultations will also be provided for potential foreign investors from Switzerland, Australia, China, Japan, and others regarding company establishment methods and procedures, as well as tax systems that foreign-invested companies should know. Despite the easing of the domestic COVID-19 spread, movement restrictions still exist, and communication between avatars on the metaverse platform is expected to establish itself as a new digital face-to-face method.
Kang Jang-jin, head of KOTRA's General Administrative Support Center, stated, "The KOTRA General Administrative Support Center provides comprehensive investment consulting through central government ministries, local governments, and expert committees in line with the government's foreign investment attraction policy trends," adding, "We will respond to the consultation demands of foreign investors and foreign-invested companies through a metaverse platform that is accessible and usable at all times to enhance the possibility of investment in Korea."
