[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Rolls-Royce announced on the 22nd that it has signed a total care service contract, including maintenance and repair of Trent 700 engines powering three Airbus A330 aircraft of T'way Air.
This is the first time T'way Air has chosen the total care service. Rolls-Royce has added T'way Air to its global customers utilizing this service. Rolls-Royce's total care service is not just simple engine maintenance support but a service concept based on predictability and reliability. It utilizes big data applied across all areas from design, manufacturing, to sales. Through this service subscription, T'way Air will be able to secure stable operating and maintenance costs for Trent 700 engines via a pay-per-flight-hour cost mechanism.
Rolls-Royce stated, "By utilizing the cutting-edge 'Engine Health Monitoring' technology reflected in the total care service, T'way Air's aircraft availability will be improved."
Kim Hyung-yi, Head of Management Division at T'way Air, explained, "The A330 is T'way Air's first wide-body aircraft and will greatly expand the level of service we can provide to passengers," adding, "We highly valued the ability to maximize aircraft availability and efficiency to deliver excellent customer service, which led us to choose the total care service."
Chris Deby, Senior Vice President of Rolls-Royce, said, "We sincerely welcome T'way Air as a new subscriber to the total care service," and added, "T'way Air has bold plans utilizing the A330 aircraft, and Rolls-Royce is honored to support T'way Air with our remarkable engines that continuously provide value to new customers and new sectors."
Rolls-Royce's Trent 700 is adopted as the main engine for the A330. It already holds over 60% market share combining passenger and cargo aircraft.
