[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] Lotte Foods announced on the 22nd that it will additionally launch products under its ice cup brand ‘Cool Shot’.
With this new product release, the Cool Shot lineup now includes five varieties: the existing ‘Cool Shot Peach’, ‘Cool Shot Watermelon’, ‘Cool Shot 2% 부족할 때 (exclusive to 7-Eleven)’, ‘Cool Shot Chunsiki (exclusive to GS25)’, and ‘Cool Shot Saeksaek (exclusive to CU)’.
Cool Shot Watermelon is a product with bite-sized ice pieces infused with watermelon concentrate. With only 15 kcal, it can be enjoyed by all age groups without calorie concerns. The other products are convenience store exclusives. Cool Shot 2% 부족할 때 allows consumers to enjoy the beverage ‘2% 부족할 때’ in a cooler ice form. Cool Shot Chunsiki is a lemon-flavored ice with an ion drink concept, featuring the Chunsiki character on the packaging. Cool Shot Saeksaek is a refreshing orange-flavored ice with a tangy taste. The packaging is designed to clearly highlight the unique characteristics of each product.
The container has also been renewed. The previous uneven shape was changed to a slim-waisted form to improve grip. Considering the environment, the weight of the plastic used in the container was reduced by about 10%. Lotte Foods expects this to save about 10 tons of plastic annually.
A Lotte Foods official said, "Cool Shot is an attractive product that can be chewed or melted, and can also be enjoyed as a beverage by pouring water or carbonated water into the container," adding, "We hope you sweetly beat the midsummer heat with this cool ice product."
