[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Seoyul] HanmiGlobal announced on the 21st that it received the highest AA rating in the '2022 First Half ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) Evaluation' announced by Sustainvest, a domestic ESG evaluation agency. HanmiGlobal has earned the AA rating for five consecutive years since Sustainvest began ESG evaluations in 2018.
Sustainvest conducts ESG evaluations twice a year targeting listed companies. In this first half of the year, 1,043 listed companies were categorized by industry and comprehensively evaluated on management status related to environment, social responsibility, and corporate governance, assigning ratings across seven levels (AA-A-BB-B-C-D-E). Among them, 9.8% of companies received the highest AA rating.
HanmiGlobal has consistently carried out ESG activities. All employees donate 1% of their salary, and the company supports this with double matching grants. The company also practices regular social contribution activities through the social welfare foundation ‘Ddaddeuthan Donghaeng’. In terms of governance, the CEO and the chairman of the board have been separated, and the chairman of the board was appointed as an outside director to strengthen board-centered responsible management. Business-wise, HanmiGlobal provides eco-friendly PM (Project Management) services covering the entire process of construction projects from planning, design, construction to operation, and also offers architectural consulting specialized in zero-energy and energy-saving buildings.
Last year, HanmiGlobal established an ESG committee within the board of directors and created an internal ESG working group to organize an ESG management system for practicing responsible management.
