Huneebus Global Secures 10 Billion KRW Series B Funding

Huneebus Global Secures 10 Billion KRW Series B Funding

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Young-won] HUniverse Global announced on the 20th that it has completed its Series B investment round in May.

HUniverse Global is a medical technology holding subsidiary of Korea University Medical Center and a specialized platform company for the next-generation cloud-based precision medical hospital information system 'P-HIS'.

This investment round was conducted with a total scale of 10 billion KRW, with participation from existing shareholders including Naver Cloud, DA Value Investment, Tap Angel Partners, Scale Up Partners, Keystone Partners, and IBK Capital.

HUniverse Global plans to use the investment funds to concretize its medical data business. By distributing and expanding P-HIS to tertiary general and university hospitals, HUniverse Global is collecting various health-related medical data such as treatment information, genomic records, and lifestyle habits. The collected medical big data will be utilized to expand into various precision medical businesses including artificial intelligence (AI), clinical research, and new drug development.

Jin-oh Park, Vice President of DA Value Investment who led this investment, said, "HUniverse Global has completed a cloud-based medical information system that can revolutionize the existing on-premise medical information systems and has succeeded in field verification." He added, "The main investment point is that it aligns with government policy directions and has the potential to flexibly respond to future medical data businesses and telemedicine based on data accumulated in the cloud." On-premise refers to the method of installing and operating servers in a company’s own data center rather than operating them remotely like cloud servers."

Sang-heon Lee, CEO of HUniverse Global, stated, "Based on the technology applied to tertiary general hospitals with Korea’s first cloud-based P-HIS, we will accelerate the distribution and expansion of P-HIS," adding, "We plan to build a personalized precision medical service environment by linking medical data collected on cloud servers with various business fields."

HUniverse Global has been operating P-HIS since 2021 at three hospitals of Korea University Medical Center, and since April, it has been building P-HIS at two general hospitals, Cheonan Chungmu Hospital and Asan Chungmu Hospital.
